The Public Sector Show – June 27, London

Commercial and contract management: NAO – July 18, Webinar
We have been writing recently on the National Audit Office’s insights and emerging best practice. The UK public sector now spends more on contracts with the private and voluntary sectors (£235 billion) than it spends in providing services itself (£194 billion). Late last year the NAO published its interactive Commercial and contract management – insights and emerging best practice which highlighted the common themes and learning opportunities they identified through their reports. This webinar will share thoughts on how thinking has evolved over the last 6 months. It takes place Tuesday 18 July and there are still places left – you can register here.
Conference on Innovation Procurement – October 17-18, Estonia
This will be held under the Estonian EU presidency in Tallinn. It aims to help with “capacity building, experience sharing and networking about major ICT-related innovation procurement initiatives across Europe and to facilitate networking between stakeholders to discuss new ideas, initiatives and funding opportunities”.The Conference also serves as the 3rd annual Major eafip event. Procurement of innovation is a very hot topic and this conference programme includes: Innovation procurement experiences in Europe, EU Member States’ policy and support framework for innovation procurement, Economic impact of innovation procurement, HORIZON 2020 calls supporting innovation procurements, Innovation procurement 2017 award ceremony. Procurex Live – UK
A series of regional events covering Scotland, Wales, Ireland, England North and South that are dedicated to supporting the delivery of public services by providing anyone buying for or supplying to the public sector with training, networking and collaboration opportunities. Procurex Scotland takes place in Glasgow, October 25, and will provide a unique platform for all personnel engaged within the Scottish public procurement marketplace to enhance their understanding and knowledge of the latest developments, initiatives and legislative changes taking place within this sector. The GO Awards Scotland 2017/18 will take place in the evening. Procurex Wales takes place in Cardiff, November 2, and bring together over 1000 delegates, 30 speakers and over 60 exhibitors for a day of learning and engagement focused on public sector procurement within Wales. Look out too for the GO Awards Wales 2017/18 taking place in the evening.
The Public Sector Procurement Summit – November 22, London
The 5th Procurement Summit, sponsored by Crown Commercial Service, is due to take place in November. An opportunity to meet with 250+ commercial professionals, with the aim of determining market reforms, skills policies and data initiatives required to ‘improve commercial capability’. Topics and breakout sessions include: How innovative procurement can change the world, Commercial reform: shaping procurement markets, and Skills: developing a highly capable commercial profession.
